Familia na rafiki,
This week has been up and down like crazy! As a missionary, there are great days and there are hard days. This week was a mix of both (you wanna hear more about it--email me lol). But, God is so good and honestly guides us with the Spirit in everything.Classic mirror selfie from a happy sister missionary:)

One of the coolest experiences I had this week was on exchanges. I was in an English area for the day, and we had a Zone Meeting (all missionaries in Twin Falls) about how many new people we could find to teach in one day! My companion and I talked about a goal of three. It sounded great, but I had a thought come into my mind that it needed to be four. So we changed it to four, not questioning the Spirit. That whole day, we knocked doors and talked to as many people as we could for about four hours straight with rejection after rejection. We prayed all day long for help and it just wasn't working out. We finally found one person, and then another, and then another. We were at three people five hours into our contacting for the day. One away from our goal. We wanted to reach our goal so bad. We needed to get back for a dinner appointment, so we didn't have much time and were ready to call it, but me and my companion at the same time had the thought to go back to a house we had been to earlier. Earlier in the day, we visited this house and no one answered, but I had a thought that we needed to come back in the evening. We both remembered that thought and went over to that house. A man answered the door and we talked with him for a little bit. We found out he has read the entire Book of Mormon and wants to go to church! AMAZING. The Lord prepares people, we just need to listen to the whisperings of the Spirit to know how to find them. Everything the Spirit had told me that day led to us meeting that man. So cool.

Another thing that was cool was on Sunday. As Swahili missionaries, we were trying to figure out what wasn't clicking with some of our friends. We talked for like two hours and finally decided to look in the scriptures for help. Sister Hyde eventually opened up to Jacob 5, the allegory about the vineyard. It talked about how when the branches were bad, they had to first make sure the roots were solid so the roots could help the branches bring forth good fruit. Then it clicked. We need to strengthen our roots. We figured out who our "roots" were and decided to focus on their progression this week. We are hoping it goes well, but we definitely know those ideas and thoughts were from the Spirit.

We had Zone Conference this week and President Southward talked to us about "getting on the train." There's one train that leads us back to heaven and that's Jesus Christ. Are you on that train?

We finally started teaching a Swahili class! Some members wanted to learn, so once a week we will teach them the language! We are blessed with such amazing people who want to help us.
English class! (They call me #1 teacher♡)

The greatest compliment I received this week: Someone asked if I lived in Africa before America because he said my Swahili sounded really good:) I laughed and said, "No, I've only been learning for six months." He was blown away and I was proud of myself haha. Couldn't have done it without God though!

Spiritual Thought:
Because most of my email has been spiritual thoughts, I'll keep it short. But this week the Prophet spoke about the power of gratitude. I can testify that that is true. I have been keeping a gratitude journal for about a month, and it's amazing and has made me so much happier to see how much the Lord blesses us. Give thanks to him in prayer daily!!! We could never thank him enough for all he does. Watch President Nelson's video if you haven't yet!

Well, that's all folks! Thanks for following along in my life and caring about what I'm doing! I'm grateful to be a missionary and wouldn't rather be anywhere else! Tell those around you you love them and be thankful this week!
